Here’s some answers. Our first set of FAQ:
Does Coast work with my iPad?
Coast works with iPad 2, 3, and 4. If you’re an iPad mini user with iOS 6 or later — you’re in the club too.
Does it keep me safe online?
The developers have done a bunch of things to keep you secure. When you try to visit a bad site, you’ll see a big warning. If you’re feeling paranoid, you can check details of any visited site using the “i” icon.
Where are the tabs?
Forget tabs. There are no tabs. Every new site you visit is in a league of it’s own and you can drag them from your recently visited sites (at the bottom) to your homescreen (in the middle) or throw them away (at the top).
How do I get back to the last page?
Swipe the screen from left to right to go back. If you swipe the first page you’ve visited, you end up back on the home screen.
Can I change the background?
Find an image online that you want to set as the background and long-press on it. You get the option there to set it as the background. To bring back the default background; long-press on one of the home screen tiles until they start shaking, then swipe the page-turn in the bottom left.
What does the shattered tile mean?
When one of your favourite sites looks smashed — it’s exactly what you see — broken. It’s not your fault, and it’s not ours. The website is down and you’re just going to have to wait until the owner has fixed it.
Why do some websites get the same icon in the home page?
It does this because the people making the website haven’t used a proper icon. They need to follow our Developer Guide to look good.
